Is there mass transit available? I know you can take a train from downtown Philadelphia to Atlantic City, but isn't the airport a long way from downtown Philly?

I think the train that goes to Atlantic City departs from 30th Street Station in Philly. You can take the Septa Regional Rail R1 line from the airport to 30th Street Station, and from there get on the train to Atlantic City.

If you want to rent a car, then take I-76 across the Walt Whitman bridge and then get on the Atlantic City Expressway, which goes right into Atlantic City.

It's over $2 mile in a cab from the Philly airport so you're looking at probably around $150 each way. It would be cheaper to rent a car, which you could do for about $30 a day. You could take the train, it is cheaper. But it isn't quick. You could also see if you could fly into Atlantic City airport (not many airlines do).

You may want to conside rentaing a car and taking the atlantic city expressway. Total trip would be an hour each way by car.
