My boyfriend and I want to go to Disneyland November 21-24. We can drive there, so we just need a hotel and tickets. What are the cheapest sites to plan our trip? Anyone know of any discounts?

check out ebay or craigslist for someone selling the last 3 or 4 days of their 5 or 7 day tickets. you'll pay less than full price, and if the tickets are not signed, no one will ever know you shared the ticket. these are also upgradable for annual passes if you dont live too far. as for hotels, there are so many on harbor and katella. not all fancy, but lots that are decent and cheap. i saw one right on katella and i think west this week for like $35 night during the week. park at ihop, ive never gotten towed there and its a much shorter walk to the park than the $8 parking. have fun say hi to nemo! :)

we booked thru priceline last time and got a great deal on a three star hotel, but it was a little further away from the park.

for someone on a budget, i can highly reccomend the super 8 on disneyland drive, not katella. it's clean, the rooms are okay and the beds are really comfy. the only gripe we have with this hotel is the lack of parking close to the rooms, but all in all we really can't complain. it's usually about $68 a night booked thru expedia or orbitz.

you can buy tickets in advance, but there's no real point because you won't have to wait more than half an hour max at the ticket booth. you probably won't get a discount on the tickets, but if you get a good enough deal on the hotel then it about evens out.

i guess the best money-saving tip would be: don't drive/park in the parking garages. if you stay at a hotel that's close enough, then you can walk to the park. parking is $11 per day, and that can really add up.

also, for the two of you, plan to spend about $$70 on meals, snacks, and drinks a day minimum. if you want to eat someplace nicer like carnation cafe (breakfast and lunch only, on main st. w/ reservation), blue bayou (reserve a couple of days in advance, very $$$, but worth it at least once) or one of the other "sit down" type restaurants, it'll be a lot more. last time we ate at blue bayou we spent $110 w/ tip for just the two of us. food will get you, but if you don't eat breakfast or get coffee first thing in the park you'll save a little more.

Sometimes you can get a really good deal on tickets through your hotel.

You can also get multi-day discounted tickets through Costco (there's one about 5 miles from Disneyland in Garden Grove). They are supposed to be for locals, but they never check at the main gate.

Be careful when booking your hotel. There are LOTS around Disneyland and some are dumps - even though they make them sound nice.

My advice is to stay a little bit out of town. You can find a nice hotel in Brea, CA for a better price. It's 10 minutes from Disneyland straight up the 57 freeway.

Good luck!

Check with the Disneyland.com Web site. They have hotel and ticket packages for most budgets and you get some extras booking through them. They have partner hotels and not just the Disney-owned properties.

Also, check out http://www.mouseplanet.com for details about the parks and current discounts.

The disneyland hotel rocks ! You get VIP entrance early to the park, the monorail comes to the hotel . The first floor is glass and there are fish swimming under it.

Get AAA to plan your trip. Or, if you want really excellent prices, go to:

http://www.shallwetreck.gttrends.com

and sign up as an associate travel agent. You get all sorts of great prices on hotels and sometimes on other attractions. I once got a Ramada Inn in downtown LA for $35 per night, as an associate travel agent. It was really nice and included a hot breakfast.

If you want to stay on a budget, go to frontier land to eat lunch and order the child's chicken plate at the barbeque place. They will not gig you for being an adult, because that's not the Disney way, and the plate is sufficient to feed any adult. Enjoy your trip.

Check on the hotels in the area and book the one in your budget, in advance. The tickets, you can buy them at the park on the day of your visit. Should be easy. Have fun and say Hi to Micky for me! :)
