I have been to Atlanta many times. The only thing bad thing I can say about Atlanta is the traffic. It is terrible!!! To answer you other questions, check out this web-page.

i just went to atlanta in may to visit my brother. the area where the aquarium is, there's a lot of stuff to do. the georgia dome is nearby and the world of coke is across the way from the aquarium. i didn't get to do the aquarium since i thought it was outrageously priced. theres a really nice park across the road from the aquarium too. atlanta is nice, but there are bad places--just be careful. i didn't get to do the zoo either. my brother said that six flags over georgia is kinda run down. i had wanted to go, but didn't--he said it was far away too--about an hour i think. if you don't get to do six flags, you should check out dave & busters. there's not one out here in oklahoma and i had a blast there. hope i helped and have fun!

You must be around Charlotte, NC for it to only be 3 hours...If the aquarium is Ripley's, you will get the same crap you did at Myrtle Beach. Six Flags is great, since you are probably use to Carowinds...(eww), and the zoo is not quite as nice as the one in Columbia, SC...but Atlanta's is decent. Atlanta has changed in the past several years, I guess it depends on what you are use too...(for example...West Charlotte versus Ballentyne....)

Just have fun! The fireworks in downtown Atlanta are great!

first off, i'm 19 and i went to the aquarium during spring break and LOVED it. Six flags is good for the older crowd, but not as good for a 2 yr old, but a lot of the roller coasters aren't open all of the time and the lines will definitely be long on the 4th. I'm sure Atlanta will have one hell of a fireworks show, so that would definitely be worth seeing. As for danger, all cities have their bad neighborhoods and their good neighborhoods. You just have to be conscious of your surroundings and don't do anything stupid like leave your car unlocked. Besides that, ATL is a great city except for the traffic issues you'll run into. Hope you have a great trip.

yeah i love six flags it is so much fun, but it might be crowded unless it is really cloudy

i haven't seen the aquarium yet but my dad has been inside and he said it is really cool

and i haven't seen the zoo since i was little but it's fun

and they aren't in bad places unless u go at night

six flags is probably the most dangerous place to go around here though

they do have some gang shootings and someone got shot like 3 days ago outside there and died

but like i said it's only the gangs that shoot each other up right there

I stay in Birmingham, Alabama (1 1/2 hours away from ATL). I haven't been to six flags since about 99-00, but when i went it was still nice. And it is not in Atlanta, it is in Austell, GA (right next to ATL.). I don't think ATL is any nastier than any other big city. Everything is in relatively close proximity to each other. It's not like you'll be driving more than 30 minutes to get to where u are going.

Being a ATLANTA navtive I must say that ATL is not a filthy place! Now to answer your questions

1. Six Flags is the only one out the way. Zoo Atlanta and The Aquarium is only 4 miles apart. Six Flags is about 12 miles from downtown Atlanta.

2. I think its a great idea to visit these landmarks!! If you do go to Six Flags please please please ride Goliath!!! I haven't been to the Aquarium yet but I've heard nothing but postive things about it. However if you do go I think you should check out the Coca Cola Factory its right next door to the Aquarium! And it always great to see the animals at the Zoo.

3. Again Atlanta is a great place. I suggest going to Cenntinnel Olympic Park as well so your nephew and you sister can run through the Olympic Ring Fountain its Super fun!!

4. YES THEY ARE WORTH SEEING!!! AND AS YOU SEE I NAMED MORE PLACES YOU CAN GO!!!

Below is a link to see the distance between the places your are trying to going to.

I work downtown so we get a newsletter letting us know whats going on every weekend. This is for The weekend you are interested in visiting! It also let you know what streets are closed.

I hope this helps.
