K so my girlfriend is coming over from China, and just has a tourist visa for US. So she can't go to Canada. So I hear that Niagra falls is really only worth seeing from the Ontario Canadian side, is this true?. In other words should we bother visiting Niagra falls, even though we can't see the Canadian side. Or should I scrap that and go somewhere else, probably NYC or DC. Wondering what Niagra falls is like just on the US side. Thanks

If she has a passport from Hong Kong ( SAR) she does not need a visa to enter Canada. If she is from mainland China, she needs a visa. If she cannot get a Canadian visa, better to visit one of the other locations. the Falls would be very disappointing from the American side only.

You can see the falls from the US side, but the view from the Canadian side is much more impressive. Also, there is very little to do on the US side, as Niagara Falls, NY is an old industrial city while its Ontario counterpart has built itself as a tourist destination.

So I'd go somewhere else.

genuinely the Canadian component has extra to furnish. there is not something incorrect with STAYING on the U. S. component, yet that's mandatory to spend your days on the Canadian component. The view of the Falls is a lot extra astounding there, as nicely as having the ability to do issues like flow on the Maid of the Mist, which takes you right down to the Falls (anticipate to get moist!), the character's Fury allure, the IMAX theatre, the Skylon, the place you are able to flow up and look down on the Falls from a great top, and then there is Clifton Hill, which has lots of museums, souvenier shops and arcades/ factors of interest to spend a while. the U. S. component merely won't be able to compete, whether that's just to look on the falls.
